The Task Force on Developmental Disabilities is a group of parents, people with disabilities, service providers and other community members who care about persons with developmental disabilities. We know that Illinois is ranked last in all 50 states in how it provides adult services for our population.  We know that Illinois is in the midst of a fiscal crisis and too often, our services are the first to go when the budget axe comes swinging.

Our DD Task Force has come together over the past year and we are in agreement that this is not acceptable.  Our children, our friends, our neighbors deserve much better.  We are hoping to make a REAL difference in McHenry County and we need your help.

On Wednesday, September 21, we will welcome Sandy Lewis who is the Executive Director of the McHenry County Mental Health Board.  She will be requesting your help as they review applications for funding for services for people with developmental disabilities. 
She will be joined by Lorraine Kopczynski, CEO of Pioneer Center and Cindy Sullivan, Executive Director of Options & Advocacy.  We will be rolling out our initial plans for how we can establish a 377 Board in McHenry County.  A 377 Board would enable us to transform how we support persons with developmental disabilties.
