About the Event
Brief summary: Lauren Bantner, Manager, Ascension Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, Autism Spectrum & Developmental Disorders Resource Center and Stephanie Strumberger, Crisis Program Coordinator, Northwestern Medicine ED Woodstock along with the Autism Resource Center at Options and Advocacy will present on the overlap of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Mental Health diagnoses. This will be a brief overview of which mental health diagnoses typically co-occur with ASD and other intellectual/developmental disorders, current trends in treatment and treatment interventions for this population. Caregivers, school professionals and community mental health providers are encouraged to attend.
Below are our objectives:
- Develop a common understanding of co-occurring MH and Neurological Disorders
- Current trends in treatment for such co-occurring disorders
- Provide some brief intervention tools for providers to use immediately
